Expedia Group’s recent report, Unpack ’25 – The Trends in Travel, reveals shifting travel preferences. A OnePoll survey of 25,000 respondents across 19 countries shows 63% of consumers plan to visit a Detour Destination on their next trip.  Here are the top 10 trending detour destinations worth adding to your itinerary.

Expedia’s global survey reveals that 39% of travellers visit grocery shops during their trips. Additionally, 44% seek local goods not available at home.  Popular experiences include coffee tours in Costa Rica, tea tastings in China, and matcha experiences in Japan.

Hotels.com reports a 40% year-on-year increase in positive feedback about hotel restaurants, chefs and bars, as guests prioritize memorable dining experiences.

Many hotels now feature critically acclaimed eateries led by Michelin-starred chefs, enhancing the overall travel experience.

The resurgence of all-inclusive resorts is another notable trend, particularly popular among Gen Z travellers. Over 42% prefer these options for stress-free, luxurious experiences and ease of booking.  Searches on Hotels.com using the ‘all-inclusive’ filter surged by 60% compared to last year.
