Frozen waffles from nearly 30 brands have triggered a recall in Canada and the U.S. due to Listeria risks. Check your freezer for affected products.
TreeHouse Foods has recalled frozen waffles from nearly 30 brands in Canada and the U.S. due to Listeria risks. Major grocery stores like Walmart, Target, Safeway, and Safe-On-Foods sell these products.
Recall and Health Risks
The recall stems from the discovery of Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that poses serious risks to vulnerable groups, including young children and the elderly.

Healthy individuals may experience symptoms like high fever and nausea, but pregnant women face greater risks, including miscarriage and stillbirth.
What to Do
Check your freezer. Dispose the frozen waffles, or return them to the store for a refund if you have them.
Listeria contamination can be tricky because it doesn’t change the food’s appearance or smell.
Consumers can identify the affected products by checking UPC and Lot Codes on the packaging. So far, no one has reported illnesses linked to these products, which routine testing at TreeHouse Foods’ facility discovered.
Those needing more information can call their dedicated hotline at 1-800-596-2903. This hotline operates Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST.

Listeria Awareness
Ultra-processed foods are more susceptible to Listeria, as contamination risk increases with each handling or processing.
In recent months, several products have been recalled across Canada and the U.S. for potential Listeria contamination. This includes sauces and deli meats. Plant-based beverages, pre-packaged salads, six-layer bean dips, and mushrooms are also affected.
